Inside the home, where no physical rivers flow, the staircase takes on this role. It moves energy up and down, acting as the main artery of the house.

Understanding this system is important because energy changes quality based on how fast it moves and which direction it goes. Gentle, winding energy brings nourishment and life. However, when energy is forced into a narrow, steep vertical channel, it speeds up. By the time it hits a landing or a doorway, it has often changed from helpful energy into fast-moving harmful energy, or Killing Energy. This is the speed-up effect. Just as a river that flows too fast wears away its banks, a staircase that speeds up energy too violently wears away the health and stability of the household.

This management of vertical flow has become urgent as we are now firmly settled into Period 9. We entered this new twenty-year cycle in 2024, and now, in 2026, we are beginning to see the full effects of the Fire element. The nature of Fire is unstable, upward-moving, and rapid. Unlike the stability of the Earth element in previous periods, Period 9 increases speed. If your home has a staircase that already speeds up energy, the surrounding Fire energy of the current period will make this worse, effectively pouring gasoline on the fire. Managing these vertical channels is no longer just about looks; it is required for health and stability. We will address the three most critical patterns that require immediate action: The Pierced Heart, The Corkscrew, and The Knife.

The Pierced Heart

The center of your home is the energy center. It is the point from which all other areas spread out, representing the heart of the household and the unity of the family. In the grid of the Flying Stars or the Bagua, this central area controls the overall stability of the residents' lives. When a staircase is located in this central area, it creates a formation known as the Pierced Heart.

The severity of the effect depends entirely on the area in which the spiral is located. The drill damages the specific body part or family member associated with that Bagua area.

If the spiral staircase is located in the Northwest, which represents the Father and the head, we frequently see residents suffering from migraines, high blood pressure, or strokes. If the spiral is in the East, representing the eldest son and the liver/legs, we see issues with mobility or liver problems. While we have discussed Forms, true mastery involves Compass Formulas. The physical shape of the stairs interacts with the invisible mathematical stars present in the area.

This rare formation occurs when the stars communicate in a specific triangular relationship, allowing a house to "borrow" luck from future periods.
